Jackie Mullen

After finishing my Geography degree I began my working life as a Geography teacher in a Secondary School in Scarborough (near Whitby). My 8 years teaching included a year as a Fulbright Scholar teaching Social Studies in Rhode Island to 8th Graders. This was a wonderful experience for me and a turning point in my life. Upon returning to Great Britain I discovered the travel bug was firmly embedded. I left teaching in 2003 to work in Travel and Tourism and the world became my classroom! I have worked all around the world but for me the best is ‘showing off’ my own country to our Grand Circle travellers, which in some way feels like re-paying the generosity and hospitality I received whilst living in the US.

Having spent many years living and studying in Yorkshire I now live back in Worcester, England, my home town. In my spare time I love to get out into the countryside running and hill walking. Our National Parks, quaint villages and historic sites continue to be a marvel to me and I hope you will fall in love with my home too! I’m looking forward to showing you some of our well-known treasures as well as sites less frequently seen.  If you travel with me you will also learn lots about me and my family through my personal stories and anecdotes. I hope to introduce you to family and friends as we tour and hope you will go home feeling you’ve met, and lived like, the locals!
