"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

An adage I live by. My first travel memory is of scampering around Portmeirion in a rainy North Wales. You'll have the option to visit this quirky village on our tour around Great Britain (be sure to bring your umbrella!). I have few other childhood memories, although there is nothing like the smell of pig manure to take me back to my younger days spent on my Grandma's farm in the Yorkshire Dales!

Later in life I was fortunate to live in France for a year which not only gave me an appreciation of snails and frogs' legs (really!) but taught me the importance of getting under the skin of a country to really understand it and experience life as a local. This is such an important part of the Grand Circle experience and we will have a lot of fun together as you are initiated into our British way of life.

Some of my best travel adventures have been in your own country. I have always been struck by the overwhelming hospitality I've received when exploring the USA and it has been my pleasure over my time with Grand Circle Travel to have been able to repay some of that wonderful kindness and generosity. I look forward to welcoming you to our bountiful little island and sharing your British adventure with you.'
